Lucy Wu’s live career reads like a map of two worlds meeting. She has carried the Jinghu — the piercing two-stringed fiddle of Beijing opera — from symphony halls to rock festivals, from Chinese state broadcasts to American corporate stages. Performed with the London Symphony Orchestra at a concert commemorating the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II, hosted by the Chinese Embassy in London to mark 60 years of UK–China diplomatic relations. Chinese Vice Premier and State Councillor Liu Yandong attended and delivered a speech — putting a Jinghu rock concert alongside the London Symphony Orchestra on one of the highest-profile diplomatic stages of the year.
